OS Agnostic Routers — Development for a Router Manufacturer

Our client, a distinguished manufacturer of vaults and routers, sets itself apart from well-known brands through its commitment to safety and security, enabled by an open-source architecture. Unlike other leading brands, where users are denied access to the operating system — thus limiting the addition of new functionalities or customizations — our client’s products are built on an open architecture. This allows users to freely modify, install, and enhance their operating system and software.

The Sibers team has been instrumental in developing the administrative panel on the client’s website. A significant enhancement involved automating the complex logic associated with selling SIM cards alongside 4G routers. Previously, managing SIM cards—serviced by various mobile operators—required manual API checks to either withdraw funds or block cards due to insufficient balance. Our team developed a custom plugin to streamline and automate these processes.

Additionally, we are engaged in Unix development tasks related to the routers. Given the time and effort required to install operating systems on routers, the client opted to use an open-source tool that creates bootloaders for different operating systems. Our responsibility is to prepare the correct installation images for these operating systems, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
