Sculptform — Online Designer for a Manufacturer of Architectural Linings

Woodform Architectural is a leading Australian designer and manufacturer of modular architectural linings.

Sibers team has developed an online drag-and-drop visualization and specification tool, allowing Woodform’s customers to get an immersive experience with company’s products even before visiting their office.

With this web-based designer, a user can create a sequence of battens of different materials, shapes, colors and sizes, edit it, review it in 3D, get a specification and pricing — all these extremely easily and quickly!

The workflow of the tool is the following:

1. A user chooses the type of lining he would like to use, and weather it would be an interior or exterior design.

2. He chooses one of available design templates or clicks on “Create a new design” from scratch.

3. One way or the other, he finds himself on the designer screen.

   An information panel on the left displays cost and acoustic rating, generated in real time as changes are made in the user’s design. It also provides the possibility to change spacing between battens (besides ascetics value, it allows to regulate the price and keep the project in budget, as the larger is space between battens, the lower is the price).

   Handy table at the lower left corner, changing in real time as well, provides all the data needed foe project specification.

   The toolbox on the right side of the window offers to choose and drag and drop a profile, its size and coating to add it to sequence.

4. Ones created, the sequence could be reviewed in 3D from different angles. On the final step it could be saved, downloaded in pdf format (with specification info included) or shared.

Sibers team has created this tool, consisting of the backend, API, administrative panel and front-end parts, from scratch. We’re also tuning Woodform’s “about company” Drupal website and developing Sculptform Tribe — a social network for Woodform’s clients, where they can share with each other their ideas and experience.
