The Haps — User-Generated Database of Local Events

The Haps is a mobile and web based application that informs users of various events (haps) that are happining around them, and allows users to inform others of these haps.

What sets The Haps apart from other event apps is that it is completely user‐generated which lends itself to a richer, more in depth experience for its users as well as promotes authenticity through peer evaluation. In addition, the easy-to-use interface and seamless integration with Google Maps puts The Haps in a category of its own.

While The Haps does not require an account to browse events, in order for a user to submit a hap or comment on a hap, they must either sign-up for a Haps account or use Facebook connect.

Haps can be associated with such categories as art, auto, business, classes, concerts, dance, education, environment, family, fashion, film, food and drink, government, health, market, music, outdoor, science, shopping, sports, technology, theater and other.
