AutoQuant for iPad — Medical visualisation of myocardial perfusion data

This is an iPad application for viewing myocardial perfusion images, resulting nuclear cardiac studies.

The app is based on the desktop software, developed in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The desktop version processes and analyses data while myocardial perfusion scan: from taking data output by the gamma camera, through transforming it into tomographic images, to generating an exact quantitative measurement of the location, extent and severity of perfusion abnormalities of the heart. It also provides a set of widgets and controls for heart slices review, and creates a 3D model of the heart, performing its motion.

At the request of Cedars-Sinai Sibers has developed the iPad version to supplement existing software. Developed app is a viewer of result files, generated from the desktop version. The same way as the latter it provides several widgets (e.g., viewport, 3D surface) and controls for applying different algorithms (smoothing, adding contours, adjusting color scale etc.) to a chosen viewport.

All the views are divided into pages. It is possible to select the required one by selecting the page. Every view can be zoomed in or out. Also the app displays data on the chosen view: each page contains an information panel.

The application:

• Displays myocardium in different slices and scales;
• Displays infobox on the shown graphical data;
• Allows to apply different algorithms for better visualization;
• Displays myocardium in 3D format;
• Allows seeing it in motion;
• Supports gestures for zooming, rotating, click and drag actions.
