AirGrub — Airport food ordering service

This Silicon Valley startup has gained significant popularity within several months from its launch in 2015, and was written about in such highly reliable media, as The New York Times and Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

Intended to revolutionize the way people feel about having a meal at an airport, the service allows to pre-order food using a mobile device, and then grab it at the airport right in time before or after the flight without waiting in line.

The solution consists of two mobile apps, for Android and iOS, and two websites — a promo one built on WordPress and the one on Symfony, which duplicates functionality of mobile apps, making it accessible via web browsers.

On the first step the user enters his flight information and the system finds available restaurants within his terminal.

Then the user browses through restaurants’ menus, chooses the meal, pre-orders it, schedules a time to pick it up, and pre-pays.

Passengers can order meals while going to the airport or even a week or month before the flight. For those being on a special diet, there is an option to search for gluten-free, low carb, or vegetarian meals.

Started with San Francisco International Airport (SFO), today the service is available for passengers having departures and arrivals in two more large US airports: Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK) and Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS).
