Enterprise-level solution for telecom — ERP and POS systems

This is an enterprise level solution for a large telecommunications provider with 100+ sales offices across Australia.

A portal, ensuring single sign-on functionality for a variety of internal websites is the heart of the system. For this purpose Sibers team has developed a custom solution, close to OAuth 2.0 technology. Ones written, the code, supporting single sign-on functionality, is used for each website within the organization, allowing to further expand its network. An administrator can create new users and websites, configure roles, permissions and privileges — all by clicking on checkboxes with the needed values within one single administrative panel. Users, in their turn, can access multiple websites via one login-password pair.

Since the telecommunications provider’s business is widely dispersed, besides managing virtual assets, there was also a need in a solution, allowing to manage remotely both, material resources — POS devices, installed in different locations across the country, and human resources — employees, working there.

Sibers team has developed a range of applications, meeting this challenge, which includes:

• An app available on interactive touch screens, installed in employees only areas within the sales offices, which provides access to the company’s internal news. It consists of several modules, containing news, information on sales, sales managers and locations ratings, etc. Also a functionality was implemented, allowing to connect with the head office, or any sales office via video or audio conference in several touches.
• The second solution is a trouble-ticketing system, which consists of an ASP.NET-based website and an iPhone application. Employees inform technical service of any troubles occurred with equipment in their offices. The system automatically addresses the problem to the relevant local service provider’s support. It also allows to send a notification on a systemic problem across all locations – e.g., if the internal news and sales ratings website is not working at the moment, it is not working across all locations.
• The trouble-ticketing system also works as a support services’ quality tracking tool. After receiving a ticket, the relevant contractor’s support has to respond in 15 minutes. They also have to mark, how long it will take to solve the problem, and then, when the store’s manager marks in the system that the problem is solved, the system counts whether it was solved on time or not. Custom support services’ quality reports can be automatically generated.
• The Heartbeat solution was implemented to track statuses of different devices across locations. Since there are multiple types of displayed content and corresponding devices, each type connected to its own server, in addition it was connected to the main portal’s server, reporting on the device’s status. Therefore the portal became not only a single sign-on solution, but also a single Heartbeat one.
• Also several types of POS systems were designed, presenting the provider’s products and services. These are interactive .NET-based websites, displayed on touch screens and working on local Windows servers.
