Loyalty program kiosk solution — SaaS solution for Android-based terminals

Aimed at quick service restaurants and retail, the solution replaces classical POS systems, which require carrying plastic loyalty cards to register customer’s visits and purchases.

This self-registration and loyalty program application, run on an Android device which is put on the counter, uses mobile phone numbers instead of cards. A merchant offers a customer to sign in to their rewards program by filling in the mobile number and pushing enter. After the phone number is stored in the database, a text massage is sent on the customer’s mobile phone, asking to respond with his e-mail address.

The trick is that the customer receives the SMS while yet at the location waiting for the order or eating — so he definitely has free time to send a few words in respond. On the next step a branded e-mail message is sent to the customer, and he he is supposed to follow the link in it to complete the registration — entering a name, address, birth date, and writing a feedback if he wants. When registration is complete, the customer is presented with his current loyalty status, and since then every his visit, registered by entering the phone number, is tracked by the system. After a definite number of visits the customer, e.g., could get a free meal or a discount.

The system collects data on customers, allows to conduct detailed reports and deliver targeted e-mail and SMS advertising.

The first version of the kiosk application was a webpage built in JavaScript, being opened in a full mode of kiosk desktop area in a custom-built browser, limiting the allowed customer’s actions.

Since the internet connection in many merchant locations is not persistent and fast enough, and the webpage loading and rendering takes time, while there might be a queue of customers, the client later asked Sibers team to rebuilt the kiosk app in the form of a native Android application. The application, instead of uploading the website in a browser, builds the form as a native Android application, so the interface is displayed instantly after the previous usage.
