Holm Care — Marketplace for Care Workers

The client’s idea is to create a reliable community of certified professional caretakers. So, he founded Holm Care which is a platform connecting the people who need help and the care workers. It works like a marketplace (e.g Booking.com), where you can find a care worker according to the parameters required.

There are three types of users: service user, care worker and admin. For service users and care workers there are personal profiles. The process of registration is detailed and complicated, which ensures safety for both parties. Admin panel (actually a CRM) made for our client to see the statistics, manage profiles and payments, and what not.

Initially, the client came to us with a complete existing code, which, however, was written by three different development teams. It was clear that this mix of approaches leads to numerous code errors and even crucial ones, and the whole thing didn’t work properly.

Our task was to make it work without rewriting the whole code. So, primarily, we analysed the initial code, found and fixed the crucial errors, restored the logic and released a well-performing site — holm.care

The main challenge is that the existing site is written half on Laravel, half on WordPress, and we need to combine and integrate different parts of Laravel code into WordPress.

In the process of bug fixing we also rewrote the payment system on Srtipe, as there was found a safety breach in the process of money transaction.
